Sess-114Day 2
9:15 - 9:45 EST
In today's enterprise landscape, organizations have shifted from single-vendor ERP solutions to multi-cloud implementations, distributing business processes across specialized platforms like Oracle Cloud ERP, Workday, Salesforce, and Blue Yonder. While this approach delivers improved departmental functionality satisfaction, it introduces significant integration complexity. This presentation explores the critical challenges and solutions for effective data integration across heterogeneous cloud environments. Data normalization across these platforms presents substantial hurdles, with enterprises reporting difficulties establishing consistent master data definitions. Schema heterogeneity requires numerous distinct business rules for financial data transformation, while Workday's employee records contain connections to many related objects with hundreds of distinct attributes. Synchronization challenges are equally complex, with organizations reporting business impact from timing-related data discrepancies. Propagation delays range from seconds for standard transactions to several minutes for complex ones, while records in bidirectional synchronization scenarios frequently experience update conflicts. I will present a comprehensive integration framework addressing these challenges through structured approaches to schema mapping, semantic reconciliation, conflict resolution, and security enforcement. Organizations implementing this framework experience fewer data consistency incidents compared to those using point-to-point integration. The presentation will also cover implementation strategies, as phased approaches demonstrate higher success rates and deliver initial business value faster than monolithic implementations. This session provides enterprise architects and integration specialists with actionable insights to achieve cohesive operations while maintaining specialized capabilities across their cloud platform ecosystem.
