About the Session

As artificial intelligence systems increasingly make decisions that affect lives, livelihoods, and public trust, the question of accountability has never been more urgent. When AI delivers a biased output, makes a harmful recommendation, or fails in a critical application, who bears the responsibility: the developer, the deploying organization, the data provider, or the regulator? This panel brings together experts in AI governance, law, ethics, and technology to unpack the complexities of liability in AI decision-making. Through real-world case studies, participants will explore frameworks for determining responsibility, closing accountability gaps, and ensuring that AI systems operate in ways that are both legally defensible and socially responsible.
