From interpreting chest X-rays to predicting heart attacks before they occur, AI is transforming how clinicians diagnose conditions and make decisions. But for every promising breakthrough, some tools fall apart when it matters most. In this lightning talk, I will cut through the noise and highlight where AI genuinely impacts medicine and where improvements are still needed. We will explore use cases such as diagnostic imaging, risk prediction for chronic diseases, and AI-assisted drug discovery. Additionally, I will discuss real-world challenges, including biased training data, lack of transparency, and the complexities of integrating AI into clinical workflows.
