Amazon has quietly raised the bar again, this time in the world of AI-driven video creation. With the launch of Amazon Nova Reel 1.1, users now have the power to create seamless, multi-shot videos of up to two minutes directly from text prompts. Whether you're scripting a cinematic sequence or piecing together short bursts of visual storytelling, Nova Reel 1.1 brings impressive improvements in quality, style consistency, and speed.

What makes this update worth your attention?

First, this is not just an iteration it is an upgrade in experience. Reel 1.1 delivers noticeably sharper results for 6-second single shots and also support longer, coherent multi-shot compositions. That means you can craft a full-length visual piece using just one detailed prompt or go full storyboard mode, manually designing each scene with its own unique text and reference image.

This model runs inside Amazon Bedrock, AWS’s managed service for foundation models, making it accessible through the console, SDKs, or CLI. Creators can now work in two distinct modes:

Multishot Automated: Ideal for rapid content creation with just one prompt. This mode accepts a single prompt of up to 4,000 characters and produces a multi-shot video that reflects that prompt automatically. Kindly, note that this mode doesn’t accept an input image.

Multishot Manual: This mode allow for more direct control over video generation by allowing users to generate coherent videos step by step. This mode is also known as storyboard mode built for granular control, you can think shot-by-shot storytelling with optional reference images.

Each video is delivered directly to your S3 bucket, and manual mode supports up to 20 shots per sequence. It’s especially helpful for creatives and media teams who want tighter control over their narrative flow without the back-and-forth of post-production.

No bells. No whistles. Just a more intuitive, flexible way to bring ideas to life—on your terms.

Nova Reel 1.1 is now available in the US East (N. Virginia) region via Amazon Bedrock, with pay-as-you-go pricing. For those in advertising, media, or marketing roles looking to build quality video assets faster, this update is worth exploring.
