Anthropic Enhances Claude with New Integrations and Advanced Research Features
Anthropic has announced a significant update to Claude, introducing Integrations and expanding its Research capabilities to better support users in managing complex workflows and accessing comprehensive information.
Seamless App Connectivity with Integrations
Anthropic’s new Integrations feature allows Claude to connect with popular tools and services, enabling users to streamline tasks and access project data directly through conversation. Building on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard connecting AI apps to tools and data that was introduced last November. Integrations now support remote servers, making it easier for developers to enhance Claude’s functionality and for users to incorporate their preferred tools unlike before when MCP was limited to Claude Desktop through local servers.
Initial Integrations include widely used platforms such as Atlassian’s Jira and Confluence, Zapier, Cloudflare, Intercom, Asana, Square, Sentry, PayPal, Linear, and Plaid, with more expected from companies like Stripe and GitLab. These connections allow Claude to understand project histories, manage tasks, and automate processes across apps. For example, with Zapier, Claude can pull data from HubSpot or prepare meeting briefs based on calendar events. Similarly, Intercom’s integration enables Claude to analyze user feedback and manage workflows, such as filing bugs in Linear.
Developer-Friendly: Developers can create custom Integrations in as little as 30 minutes using Anthropic’s documentation or solutions like Cloudflare, which offers built-in authentication and deployment support.
Enhanced Research Capabilities
Claude’s Research feature has been upgraded to handle more in-depth investigations, now capable of searching across the web, Google Workspace, and connected Integrations. When activated via the Research button, Claude breaks down complex queries into manageable parts, delivering detailed reports in 5 to 45 minutes, complete with citations linking to original sources.
This expanded access to internal and external data sources makes Claude a valuable tool for tasks that would typically require hours of manual research. The addition of Integrations further broadens the scope, allowing Claude to incorporate information from connected apps into its reports.
Availability and How to Get Started
Integrations and advanced Research are currently in beta for Claude’s Max, Team, and Enterprise plans, with availability on the Pro plan coming soon. Web search is now accessible globally for all paid Claude.ai users.
