At the Changchun stop of the VOYAGEX Music Festival in Jilin, China, PNDbotics’ full-sized humanoid robot Adam performed as a keytar player alongside renowned Chinese musician Hu Yutong and his band. This innovative performance showcased a blend of robotics and artistic expression, drawing attention from festival attendees. PNDbotics described the event as “a new attempt, both in terms of technological innovation and artistic exploration,” reflecting their commitment to pushing the boundaries of humanoid robotics.

Adam, standing approximately 1.6 meters tall and weighing around 60 kilograms, played the keytar with precision, integrating seamlessly with the band’s performance. To enhance its stage presence, Adam was styled in a hoodie, cap, and facial mask to match the band’s aesthetic, creating a relatable and engaging appearance for the audience. The robot’s movements were pre-programmed and monitored by a support team to ensure a smooth performance.

Developed by PNDbotics, Adam is designed with modular actuators to enhance flexibility and maintenance, making it suitable for dynamic environments. The robot’s performance at VOYAGEX highlights a growing trend in robotics toward flexible, human-like systems capable of interacting in creative settings. This event demonstrates PNDbotics’ ongoing efforts to explore new applications for humanoid robots, merging technology with art to inspire audiences and redefine human-machine collaboration.
