After a relatively quiet moment, Midjourney has returned not just with updates, but with a whole new model that feels alive to your imagination. V7 isn’t a quiet upgrade. It’s a statement. A recalibration of what it means to collaborate with AI on a canvas, whether through text or image. And from the first few minutes of testing, it's clear that this model listens better, understands more deeply, and paints with a clarity.

One of the most striking shifts is the improved coherence in image generation. Bodies, hands, and objects now carry a natural precision that makes results feel less “interpreted” and more realized. The texture work is richer, the lighting more intuitive, and the compositions hold together beautifully.

But where V7 truly shifts gears is in its Draft Mode. Designed for speed and iteration, draft jobs cost half as much and render up to ten times faster. It's like having a sketchbook that responds instantly to your thoughts. Say you want to swap a cat for an owl, or change the setting from dusk to a neon-lit city at midnight, Draft Mode adapts, rewrites, and renders in moments. Pair it with voice mode, and suddenly you're speaking your visuals into being. No overthinking. Just flow.

Of course, Draft Mode sacrifices some polish in favor of speed, but the images remain consistently aligned with your intent. Once you've landed on a concept you love, a single click on ‘enhance’ or ‘vary’ takes it to full quality.

Another first with V7 is model personalization, this feature is now part of the experience by default. It only takes about five minutes to unlock, but the result is a model that subtly tunes itself to your tastes understanding not just what you say, but what you mean. You can toggle it on or off at will, but you might just find it hard to go back once you’ve seen the difference.

At launch, V7 supports two generation speeds Turbo and Relax with Turbo offering lightning-fast jobs at twice the credit cost. Standard speed, still in the works, promises more optimization down the line. Some features like upscaling, editing, and retexturing still lean on V6 for now, but updates are already in motion.

A new journey has begun. Let’s see where it takes us.
